Working together

The University of Manchester was created in 2004 when two of the UK's most respected research-led universities joined forces - UMIST and The Victoria University of Manchester, both established in the 19th century.

Thanks to its size and diversity, a wide variety of courses - over 500 - are now on offer across the University. We are also able to offer a broader range of interdisciplinary research areas than any other UK university, which in turn informs our teaching. This means you'll be studying the cutting-edge topics within your subject.

Your future
